Games

Gaming is a big part of OmegaCon for many attendees. We invite you to bring some of your favorites!

CoCoGaZoRS

Lots of us like to bring our favorite tabletop games to OmegaCon. As we have full run of the hotel throughout the weekend many of us also opt to leave our games in Gandy Dancer so others can enjoy them too*. It’s like a buffet of games and can be a fun way to try out new games or play a game you like but don’t own. How will you keep track of your games during the weekend? Great question!

Behold ye the advent of “CoCoGaZoRS”, or the Color Coded Game Zone Return System. The game tables in Gandy Dancer will be designated into several “color zones” (clearly marked with tablecloths) and matching Post-Its for coordinated labeling will be provided. If you bring games to share please label them clearly with your name, badge number, and/or a unique identifier**.

Please respect others’ property – don’t spill or get the games dirty, don’t lose any of the pieces, and return games to their color coded tables.

*You are under no obligation to make your games available to others.
**Pro tip: take a photo of your games on the CoCoGaZoRS table so you remember what games need to go home with you.

Game Exchange

We also provide space for a game donation/exchange in Bear Den. There will be a designated area for games you no longer want. It’s a “leave a game and/or take a game” system. Please use the provided “DONATE” labels on your donated games so we know that your game was rightfully abandoned. Games left by the end of the weekend that no one takes home will be donated to The Lodge.

Please ensure that games on the CoCoGaZoRS tables do not end up here without the owner’s consent. If you’re not donating a game you own, you shouldn’t be adding it to the bin.

Video Games

Video games are also popular at OmegaCon! There is a projector set up in Gandy Dancer with a couple different connected video game systems, available for anyone to use. All of this equipment is kindly provided by Jesse Richardson, one of our attendees, so please treat it with care.

You are also welcome to bring your handheld gaming devices.

Room of Retro (OmegaFall only)

Friday: 7pm – Late
Saturday: 9am – Late

The Room of Retro is OmegaCon’s own little slice of Gaming Heaven, located on the second floor across from the elevator! From Classic Macs, to emulated systems, to the next-gen consoles of yesteryear, we have a fine cross section of video game history! Maybe this time you will finally make it all the way to Oregon!

This equipment is generously provided by OmegaStaff member Justin Williams. Please take good care of it.
